Michael J. DuBose
Michael practices in the areas of domestic and family law. He offers a wealth of experience having worked on both sides of the Courtroom. His interest in family law began in law school, when he worked as a student practitioner in the Children’s Rights section of the Loyola Law Clinic, representing children in contentious custody proceedings and immigration proceedings. After graduating from law school, Michael spent four (4) years as an associate attorney with a family law firm in Metairie, where he gained instrumental knowledge and experience in representing clients in a wide array of family law matters, including divorce, custody, child and spousal support, community property partitions, marriage contracts, and adoptions in courts across Southeast Louisiana. In 2022, Michael sought to further his experience and worked as a Law Clerk for the Hon. Monique E. Barial and Jane E. Booth, Judge Pro Tempore, both of whom presided over the Domestic Relations Docket of Civil District Court in Orleans Parish. There, he acquired invaluable insight into judicial processes and reasoning, giving Michael a unique perspective on domestic litigation. Michael looks forward to using his talents to advocate for HNK’s clients.
Michael is originally from Southwest Louisiana and attended Teurlings Catholic High School in Lafayette. He earned his B.A. in Political Science from Louisiana State University in 2014, and his J.D. from the Loyola University New Orleans College of Law in 2018.
Michael lives in Uptown New Orleans with his partner, Luis, their dogs, Randazzo and Gambino, and cat, Lola. He enjoys connecting with the professional community through public speaking events, giving frequent leadership presentations at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and has guest lectured for family law courses at Loyola Law. In his free time, he enjoys traveling and spending time with his friends and family.
